Deep in the caves of Mount Roardor you avoid the Stalactites and Stalagmites ( and the annoying little flies ) to reach the mystical dragon heaven in the east sets the theme for Wacky Dragons a simple helicopter in a cave game clone. A simple game , with a simple control mechanism but will it offer something that will enjoy for a long time or is it one of those download and forget titles ? Well you have to read on to find out ( technically you could skip the reading and go to the end to find out , but that is cheating )
The game uses a tried and tested formula , I have seen the simple touch based game back from the Windows Mobile days and needless to say there were quite a few of this gameplay inspired titles on the iPhone ( most of em with a helicopter and a cave ) , Wacky Dragons certainly has a GFX overhaul from those titles. From the cute dragons to the background of the caves ( which can be disabled to gain some performance on older devices ) , the game does look easy on the eye. It’s also good to see the devs taking the extra effort to educate the gamer about the story behind the game with a voice and picture narration instead of a blurb of text in the marketplace description.
With a very simple control mechanism touching on the right side of the screen to fly up and leaving to drop down the controls are quite easy to understand but difficult to master. You can also use the occasional powerups to make your life easier by touching the left side of the screen. The in game tutorial does good job of easing the player in to the game mechanics .The controls are alright in the easy mode ( egg ) but in the hard mode ( adult ) I found it very very hard ( read almost impossible ) to get far in to the cave.
The game revolves around dragons and you start off with a yellow one and as you play and accumulate distance and gemstones you get to unlock 5 other dragons from the Lucky Raindow Dave to the skeletal remains of Helmuth Hellbringer , you also get to upgrade the dragons ability to have a better chance of survival. All the other goodies that you come to expect from mobile games these days like local / online leaderboards are also present and then some like the ability to save the in game music as a ringtone and some customisation option for the live tile.
To sum it up there is certainly some fun to be had with this title and I do hope the devs tinker a bit with the hard mode to make it a tad more playable and there is no denying the game has the potential to get old very quicky but thankfully the devs have included a lot of upgrade options in the form of various dragons and each with a their own unique ability , which should give us the initiative to come back for more.

Its not all that bad, the controls needs a bit of tweaking. Why not just add a sensitivity slider and let users pick what they want ??
cool site btw, I am new here ^_^
The game has potential but it is just far too difficult, the controls are too sensitive.
The egg mode seems to be much more manageable , I can do much better without the camera in front :)
