Rocket Riot

Rocket Riot

Do you like games where you have to shoot everything in sight? Do you like games with destroyable environments? Do you miss the good old 8bit games of yesteryear? Well, Rocket Riot is the game for you! The story follows your search of the evil Captain BlockBeard, a villainous bad-guy who you must defeat at all costs! Your journey goes through many different locations which gives the game a great variety of levels to play through. A while back we showed you the trailer for this xBox Live WP7 game.

Each level has its own theme, such as inside a computer, on a spaceship or even a haunted castle! With each of these themes brings different characters. As you progress through the game, you unlock any bad guys you blow up with your bazooka. Once unlocked, that character gets added to the very long list of characters that you can choose to use as your player model.

Talking of the bazooka, that’s the main point of the game, to shoot & blow stuff up. Every level is destructible, meaning you can blow up anything & everything around you. In-fact, I tend to spend more time blowing up the walls around me than the enemies. This is just simply part of the fun of this game. Everything explodes into small cubes which fly in every direction!

There are a total of 48 levels to crash your way through in your quest to defeat BlockBeard. I have been playing this on & off for the past few days & I still have another 10 levels to go, showing this game can give you many hours of explosive entertainment. Even when you have blown your way through all 48 levels, you will still go back through them for more chances to shoot everything in sight & watch as the world & enemies alike, erupt around you like fireworks!

Is the reviewer guy under 30 or not very tech savy? the tape on the load screen… sounds like dial up…. Um NO! that my friend is a throwback to the golden age of 8bit computing and the sounds of loading the game from tape. many a fond memory of loading my atari 65xe only with it to fail with the message “boot error” after waiting ages. Oh yes the were the good old days. the sound was more like a specy loading.
