WorldEditor Windows Phone
Arcanes Tower Defense is great little indie title for windows phone and the developers have given us an preview of the Level editor for the game. The level editor will be available as a free ad-supported app from the marketplace and will allow users to create and save custom maps.
The app is still in beta and offers a very simple mechanics , you get to pick a map size and then you add various terrains and obstacles to it and once you are happy with the layout you can save it on to you device and then the map is available from within the game. Check out the video to get an idea of what to expect from it.
I do have a few suggestions :
- At the moment I don’t think there is a way to undo a change you have done, this would be a very welcome feature
I don’t think you can share a custom map with other users. I don’t see myself making great new custom levels but would love to try out some of the maps the community might put togetherI appears you can send custom maps to your friends, Select your map inside the Saved Picture folder after you save it, send it as an attachment to a friend, they can download it and save it inside their own saved folder and ta-da they have on their phone. You can also put the map on a server and access it via a web page too… so once you make some cool maps feel free to share it with us here
Update : This will probably go up on or before Tuesday according to the developers. The link to the app in the game info box below will take you to the app on the marketplace but you might not be able to download it , till they make it public. It’s up on the marketplace
