Retro Warfare 2 Windows Phone

Retro Warfare 2 looks like a good retro platformer with all the 8bit glory and funky music that many of us love to enjoy and if that is your thing you wont be disappointed by what it offers. I didn’t get the time to give this title a full review but here is my quick impression of what the game offers via the trial.

The graphics are quite nice and you will enjoy it too if you are into retro looking games on windows phone and the music is nice if you enjoy the game in short bursts.. like any other game it might start to get a tad annoying after a while ( there is a mute button to mute the music, the SFX will still come through ) . The control mechanism is very very simple with a left and right arrow and the old skool A B buttons to jump and shoot. I would have loved to see some alternate control mechanism like something using the accelerometer perhaps ?

The idea behind the levels are simple : shoot your way though the bad guys , jump you way across spikes / water ( our hero does not know how to swim so avoid water at all cost ;) ) using the platforms and get to the keycard which will take you to the next levels. The demo does not really try to sell you on a storyline ( I am not sure if the full version is any different ) .

The demo offers a tutorial level and a simple level , we are not sure how many level the full game offers ( perhaps the devs could let us know via the comments ). From the developers description from the marketplace we think there are some new stuff that you wont see in the demo like going stealth, throwing grenades and flying using the Hover and exploding zombie to watch out for in the full version. There si also something called a Destruction level I have no idea what it offers. Here is a quick video of what to expect

Dear Saijo,

Answers to your questions:

Q: we are not sure how many level the full game offers ( perhaps the devs could let us know via the comments ).
A: Currently 10 but soon there will be more.

Q:There is also something called a Destruction level I have no idea what it offers.
A: The level named Destruction has been added in version  1.1. In Destruction you can unlock the 3 follwing achievements: “The Killer”, “Untochable”, “The lightning”

Q: The demo does not really try to sell you on a storyline ( I am not sure if the full version is any different )
A: No, the game does not have any storyline.  The only mission you have is to get the keycard to unlock the next level.

Q:  Love their coming soon page
A:  We don’t have any trust left in Mario.  So someone else must save the pricess in our next coming game.

Best regards,
TryTek
