You either love Maths or hate Maths there is no in between .. so this game is a great game or you probably would not like it at all. One good thing about this game is you can show off your maths skills against the whole world ( well .. at least to the ones who own a Windows Phone and are playing at the same time as you are , and that can be a lot of people … when I was playing it was 3 other players -_- ) but don’t let that turn you away from this game coz its a great little game that you can jump in and have fun with, click past the break for the full review

NumberTap is new FREE advertisement supported multiplayer number puzzle game for Windows Phone. Its very similar to Wordament but instead of a word puzzle game you are presented with maths questions and you are given 2 minutes to answer as many as possible. This is a formula that has been well received on Windows phone , throw in a puzzle game with a time limit and let all the participant battle it out and show the highscore at the end of the round , instant fame and glory for the top player… why try to fix something that ain’t broken ?

When you launch the game you can pick a name and the game will show you how many games you have played what is your current score, etc. There is a leader board which allows you to dig deeper in to the stats and weekly leaderboard ( if you are not in the top 100 your rank is not shown and there is no all time leaderboard which was disappointing ). There is a practice session if you want to hone your maths skills before jumping in to the ranked online games.

When you launch the online game you can see how many other players are currently playing the game and if a session is in progress you have to wait till the next round begins. You are presented with a countdown timer and your current score and you get to pick a multiple choice answer for upto a 100 basic and advanced arithmetic operations. The interface is quite simple you have a series of questions and you can see the next question in the queue and for each question you are presented with 4 answer and you can pick your choice by touching the choice you want to make. If the answer is correct the question turns green , you get a point and your multiplier goes up( to a max of 5 ) . If it’s wrong the question turns red and the multiplier resets ( there is no -ve points so you are free to guess :( , personally I would vote yea! for -ve marks for wrong answers ). There is a progress bar that shows you how many questions you have left to answer out of the 100 per session. A simple but effective interface and gameplay if you ask me. Once the round is done you get a leaderboard with some stats about the game, who was the top dog, etc and then the next round begins.

And that concludes our little review for NumberTap. Final words : a great game that all number puzzle fans should download right now, the developer has done their part and have released a nice little game now its up to us to download and start playing it…Oh and before I forget the game respects your choice of theme colour so expect to see your favourite colour throughout the game.

One of the NumberTap devs here, thanks for the review! Just letting people know we are working hard at getting some more players into the game and also adding some features to keep them coming back.

If anyone has questions or comments I’d love to here them.

I’ve tried these mathsy so called games, but i must say most of them wear off after 3 minutes of playing… I’m not sure maths was ever meant to be fun lol.
