The title should give you an idea of what to expect. This is a daft game with a daft premise: you are a pizza delivery man for the Mafia. Which means that you get sent out to deliver pizzas, occasionally with a side order of explosions. Played entirely from a top-down perspective, you drive towards marked locations, and are given one of three objectives: deliver a pizza (drive within a certain distance of a house), destroy a property (ram a house), or assassinate a person (run over a pedestrian).

And that really is all there is to it!

The challenge comes in the form of the police – while happy for you to deliver pizzas, the moment you run over a pedestrian or ram a building the police will take notice and chase after you. Should a police car make contact with you then your day of work is over, and your score saved. You gradually earn points which allow you unlock new cars, and that’s about it!

The controls are extremely simple, and not exactly car-like: rather than following the Micro Machines/Grand Theft Auto mechanic of having an accelerator and steering wheel, you actually control the car directly, using a virtual joystick, making controlling it very straightforward. Which is a shame, as having you feel more like you were in command of an actual car would add welcome flavour to the game, as well as increasing the difficulty – the problem being that, as it stands, failure is only ever likely to come from you giving up or completely failing to pay attention. This is not a hard game.

But then, it clearly doesn’t set out to be. This is meant as a quick and easy game to jump into, with leaderboards to aim for over the few minutes you spend driving around the city. There’s a certain amount of pleasure to be had from seeing the blackened spaces where buildings you’ve rammed used to be, and the objectives are simple enough that you can just switch off and drive for a few minutes without any hassle.

And best of all, it’s completely free. There are more polished and more interesting games out there, but for a quick run around you could do worse than this.
