King Of The Sea is a multiplayer Battleship clone for windows phone , this is not the first clone of this classic to grace windows phone but it brings turn based multiplayer element to the game which is awesome. The essence of the game stays the same you have to destroy the enemy fleet before they sink yours. Check out our review to see what we think of this game

Your fleet has 5 ships : the largest of which I assume is an aircraft carrier takes up 5 slots to be placed the smallest of which is probably a patrol boat is 2 slots wide. Then there is a 4 slot battleship and 2 ships with three slots each ( which could very well be the submarine and the cruiser ). The game is played in a 10×10 grid where you place your 5 ship then take turns shooting at a similar 10×10 grid where they enemy has their ships. As expected you get to rotate the ship in 90 degree angle and can place them horizontally or vertically .. but you can’t stack them on top of each other or with part of the ship outside the 10×10 grid.

The graphics are nothing to write home about , but works well for this type of title. When you hit an enemy ship you will see the slot on fire and if you miss the slot is marked with water ripples. You start off with 5 shots , which is represented by the number of slots of your largest undamaged ship. After each turn the game will check how many shots you can take at your enemy. So if you just have your patrol boat undamaged then you just get to take one two shots at the enemy.

The main aspect of the game is its multi-player where you can play against you mate or with random opponents , the game also allows you to chat with the other opponent which is nice. The game also features detailed leader-boards sorted by daily ,weekly , monthly and all-time. The game has a local game where you can challenge the AI , but I haven’t really put the AI to the test. If you guys have played against the AI , do share your experience with the rest of us via the comments.

To sum it up King of the Sea is definitely worth checking out , but could use some improvement over time. I would love to see some special moves ability , like calling in an air-strike or something like that. It could be implemented in such a way ( if your aircraft carrier is undamaged after 3 rounds then you get to call in an air strike , this will place a 4 adjacent shot at the enemies board diagonally ) , hopefully those will come in the form of updates .
