Possibly the cutest couple to ever appear in an Xbox game, ilo & milo have found their way across onto Windows Phone 7. They live in a strange ‘Tim Burton’-esque world & always manage to get lost on either sides of crazy 3D puzzle worlds. It is your job to help them across these worlds to re-unite them again.

The 3D environments you have to navigate them through look stunning & slightly twisted.Controlling ilo & milo is relatively simple. There are directional buttons to move your character, a button to pick things up (& put them down again) & a button to switch between ilo & milo. Flicking the screen left or right & tilting your device changes the camera angle & pinching zooms in or out, giving you a better view of the problems you are faced with.

The puzzles get harder & harder as you make your way through the different worlds, which each have a distinct look to them. The first world is a very easy introduction to the game, easing you in to the game mechanics & after 6 levels you are out into real levels. Each world (apart from the first) has 9 levels & a special extra level if you find all the little ‘Safka dolls’ which are hidden throughout each world.

Playing ilomilo is definitely fun, but some levels can take some time to figure out (at least they did for me, but I’m not perhaps the sharpest chunk of cheese). Have a go, try to get those happy little things back together, just don’t show your kids or they will spend the next few days wanting ilo & milo cuddly toys. (I want one)
