Do you have a vendetta against fruit? Well, now you can take revenge on all those times your mum said “they’re good for you” by getting out your samurai sword & swishing it around for a bit (at some fruit, not your mum). Fruit ninja became famous over on the iOS platform but has found its way over to Windows Phone 7 to give us WP7 users some fruit slicing action!

The idea of the game is quite simple; as fruit gets thrown up into the air, you have to slash away with your fingers to cut them up. There are three different game modes:

• Classic : where you have to go as long as you can, chopping up fruit as you go. If you miss any of the fruit & let it drop, you will lose a life. 3 missed pieces of fruit & it’s all over. Another problem is that bombs get thrown up along with the fruit & if you hit one, it explodes & you lose.
• Arcade : in my opinion the most fun mode, you doesn’t have lives to worry about & bombs will make you lose 10 points instead of killing you. It only lasts for 60 seconds but it adds special bananas to spice the game up a bit, giving you boosts like double points, slowing down time & fruit frenzy, which sends loads of fruit flying onscreen at once.
• Zen : this is meant to be less stressful than the other modes. It has no lives to worry about & no bombs of any kind. Sadly there are also no special bananas. You just get to slice & cut your way through fruit peacefully for 90 seconds.

No matter which mode you are playing, the gameplay is smooth & very fun. You wouldn’t believe how soothing it can be to simply sit there, swiping away at fruit on your phone. There is nothing more satisfying than getting combos whenever you slice through 3 or more fruit at once, plus being an Xbox live game, there are a variety of achievements ‘fresh for the picking’.

Whenever you cut through a piece of fruit, it leaves a juicy splatter on the wall behind it, plus it supports multi-touch so you can use up to 4 fingers (maybe more on devices that support it) to chop through the fruit.Ultimately it’s a very fun game, well worth getting. It’s one of those games where you shouldn’t tell your friends you have it, or you will find your phone constantly vanishing as they nick off with it to play with!

• Combo Mambo (10 points): Slice 6 fruit in one combo.
• Moment Of Zen (10 points): Achieve a score of 200 in Zen Mode.
• Year Of The Dragon (10 points): Slice the secret fruit!
• The Lovely Bunch (10 points): Get the Lovely Bunch star in Zen Mode.
• Its All Pear Shaped (10 points): Kill 3 Pears in a row in Classic Mode.
• Wake Up (10 points): Get a score of 0.
• Underachiever (10 points): Get a score of less than 20 after all bonuses have been awarded.
• Overachiever (10 points): Get a score of over 400 after bonuses.
• Bomb Magnet (10 points): Hit three bombs and score over 250 points after bonuses.
