Gosh but this is an easy game to describe. There is a ball. It rolls. Left to right, or right to left, depending on the level. If you tap the screen, it jumps – yes, this is a ball with the ability to launch itself; stop interrupting! Now where was I? Oh yes, the jumping ball. It has to jump, you see, to avoid obstacles. Strange obstacles in the form of abstract shapes. Oh, and to reach higher platforms, and cross gaps. Because the ball has to reach the end the level for, er, some reason. And to collect stars. That’s not really explained either. But there’s an ever-escalating counter at the top of the screen, which I’m assuming are points, and they go up as you complete levels and collect stars, so that must be good, right? Anyway, we’re getting distracted here. There are levels to clear, and stars to collect. Best get to it!
With a vast number of ever more challenging levels, an easy concept to grasp, and such simple, achievable goals to reach this is a compelling, pick-up-and-playable game. The graphics are simple, but sweet, and the music surprisingly catchy. Oh, and if you don’t like the cartoony aesthetic it ships with, the game has the option for an alternate, ‘sci-fi’ theme. Admittedly, you’re still rolling a ball around, still avoiding abstract shapes, but the backgrounds and music differ, granting a smidgen of stylistic variety.
There’s not much to FastBall 2, nor is there much to dislike. It’s a simple, inoffensive bit of entertainment, with no delusions of grandeur, and with enough content to offer good value for money. Particularly considering it’s completely free. It would be nice to have online leaderboards, or maybe some sort of achievement system to aim for, but then again it’s quite refreshing to come across a game that isn’t filled with all the unnecessary trappings of modern titles – this is a simple, old-school platformer of sorts, and that’s all it wants to be. As long as there are more levels to reach, higher scores to attain, you’ll have something to do – goals you can nibble away at during your lunch break, on the bus, during advert breaks. A fun little game that never gets in the way. More power to it.

It is fun to play for a while but once you get to the later levels in the
first chapter and from around level 14 in the second chapter it just gets too
difficult.
It’s a shame it isn’t better judged as it just ends up annoying you and you
stop playing.

I can say this is one of the most amazingly simply addictive, beautifully made games on wp7, and the background song (that sounds like a French song) used to be stuck in my head all the time, drove my partner MAD :P Some of the higher levels are honestly impossibly hard, which is the reason I haven’t played this lately.
this looks like a fun game that is easy to pick and and have fun with :)
