Dark Runner. Free? Yes. Worth It? Meh. That’s the overwhelming response that I feel about this game. We’ve all seen games like it before but with so many iterations of this game you almost have to be picky about the one that you play. For the right person this could definitely be a game to enjoy and it does have a feature that sets it apart from other games that are similar to it. However, I don’t think that it makes up for the lack of lasting value and again, the competition in the marketplace.

Dark Runner is a side scrolling jumping game. Even though you don’t think you know what I’m talking about, you do. Basically our runner starts out on the left side of the screen. As he continues to run obstacles get in the way and you have to jump over or roll under them depending on the obstacle. the rolling is something that I haven’t really seen in these side-scrollers. Plus the two action are combined to jump in between obstacles as well. And while it may be unique I just don’t get the feeling that this game is as polished as I think it could/should be and there’s others out there that have a much greater lasting value. Case in point, Fastball 2.

Overall, Dark Man is alright. While it’s definitely not the worst game you could download, it’s no Fruit Ninja, (Authors note: I decided Angry Birds is a cliche reference, so I went ahead and picked Fruit Ninja)
