Chicks’n'Vixens Beta is a clone of the hugely popular iphone game / board game / plush toy / movie / the air you breath / the water you drink…. sheesh. To the iPhone fanboys in you Angry birds was no original idea either they got the inspiration from Castle Clout , which was a lame implementation , but Angry birds made the game cute and fun and now JabberWorx tried to do the same for WP7 with a free game called Chicks’n'Vixens.

Chicks’n'Vixens is still in beta and is FREE at the moment , we are not sure what price we can expect for it once its out of beta. The game works quite well for a beta title. The game mechanics are the same as in Angry birds. Once you launch the game you have a basic options page where you can adjust the volume level, with a dedicated volume button I don’t really think this is a need feature for any games on WP7. Then you are in the level selector , there are 18 levels and you are free to pick any one of the levels, I am guessing once out of beta the levels will be progressively unlocked.

We are not sure why the Chicks are out to get the Vixens but they are out to get em and the Vixens have barricaded themselves in fear of the foul flock. We see 4 different kind of chicken each with its own ability which can be activated when touching the screen while the bird is in flight. You launch the birds from a special launcher available in each level instead of a slingshot ( as seen on Angry birds ) might be a bad idea coz with the cannon you have to place the finger in front which kinda blocks the view :(

• The yellow when has no apparent power, but it’s the only one which can bounce off things.
• The raptor hen moves forward with a lot of force when you tap the screen.
• The one tied up is tied to a TNT thing, it will explode when you touch the screen.
• The white one lays an egg which is shot down with a lot of force while simultaneously pushing the chicken upwards.
• The Vixens , well they are the enemy.

The background music is really good and complements the gameplay nicely, when I tried the early version the physics was kinda crappy and the Vixens used to just die in mid-air but all of that seems to be solved in this version, but at times the birds use their ability without me activating it.. again this is still in beta and hopefully the bugs will be ironed out before the final release. To conclude this is a great FREE game , not up to angry Birds gameplay standard… YET but I don’t see why it cant get there with future update ..
