Pansoft the guys behind Dungeon Stalker have released a new 360-degree shoot-em-up game called Star Zed.Press release and video below

Star Zed is a 360 degree endless playfield shooter. I I’ve to think about a game that implemented something like that, I would say Time Pilot (we’re going quite in the past here lol). You play by just moving your ship in any direction so sometimes you actually run away from bullets instead of just dodging. Instead of having on-screen controls, you can move your ship by dragging freely on the screen : I’ve choosen this approach since it may suit both players playing with left and right fingers and because I’ve found that often, with fixed control zones, you tend to slip away and loose control.

Score
There’s no shooter without score, and Star Zed is not less J The game features a progressive multiplier that incrementally increases as you succeed in killing enemies while staying alive. You can get up to 64 times the normal score by praticing your thumbs skills!

Levels
The game has currently 24 levels split into 5 waves each, with 1 boss every 2 levels. Every time the player succesfully ends a level it gets unlocked and he/she can later continue directly from that. Continuing from an unlocked levels will of course reset your score and multipliers but will help you finish the game.
Every level has different graphics setup, backgrounds and features brand new enemies or lethal variations of well known ones.

Weapons
The player can choose to 3 different weapons setups. The first is a laser setup with a hard hitting front damage but limited defense. The second is a plasma setup wich can be considered half way between offensive and defensive and the latter is a wave setup wich sacrifices front damage for a very wide attack area.

Trial / Pricing
The game is at 0.99$ with Trial is supported. Trial mode allow the player to play freely until level 2 (until the very first boss).

Future Improvements
Version 1.1 will contain a couple of adjustements based on players feedback I’ve received. Next improvements will feature new game modes like survival and boss rush, new levels and new weapons.
