Last week Sudoku and Minesweeper were released as free games on windows Phone ( but only to US customers, which is nothing new on Windows Phone ) and this week one of those tile Minesweeper is released to the rest of the world after lot of users protesting against this move. BUT kudos to the team at Microsoft to listening to users feedback and working hard to make this happen. Press release for the app below
Minesweeper, the classic puzzle game, is now available on the Windows Phone! The goal is to clear random minefields using flags to safely mark potential mines. One wrong move will detonate the entire board. Sweep your way through Classic and Speed modes, each with as many as 4 different levels of difficulty. Play your way through and earn powerups to help you navigate the board and unlock achievements for your LIVE account.
Minesweeper xBox Live Achievements
- Ultimate (5 points): Reach the Ultimate rank.
- Happens to Everybody (5 points): Trigger your first mine.
- Use what now? (5 points): Completed a minefield without using any flags on a minefield that is 9×9 or larger.
- Click click BOOM! (5 points): Trigger a mine on the second click.
- Piece of cake! (5 points): Complete a minefield with five digs or less.
- Serious Business (5 points): Reveal a square with a 6 or higher.
- The world is safe… for now (5 points): Win a game on each difficulty in both Classic and Speed modes.
- I don’t need those (5 points): Win a game without using any powerups ranked as Player or higher.
- High Five! (5 points): Win a speed mode game with more than 10 seconds left on the clock.
- Training wheels (5 points): Win a game on a minefield that is at least 12×12.
