Hi folks today we will be talking to the folks from Exit Games, these guys will be talking about their product Photon which is claimed to be one of the fastest and easiest to use Network Engine to build scalable MMOGs, FPS or any Cross-Platform multi-player game or app for PC, Mac, Browser, Mobile ( Windows Phone, Android, iOS) or Console.

Tell us a bit out Exit Games – who you guys are? What you guys do?

Exit Games develops “Photon” – which is a high performance realtime, multiplayer server. Photon that allows developers to easily implement realtime features into their games or applications. Photon is used by more than 12,000 developers and from small to large companies like Codemasters, Warner Bro, FOX, Glu, KranX, A.C.R.O.N.Y.M., OpenFeint, Konami or World Golf Tour.

Server side we use Windows and developed a high performance Kernel in C++ (leveraging IOCP, IO completion ports). We host a .NET CLR, so server code can we conveniently written in C#.

Client side we have SDKs for almost any platform which allows gaming between PC, MAC, Browser, iPhone/iPad, Android, Windows Phone und other Devices.

RedCat Games (developer) and DevRain Solutions (publisher) the guys behind Undead Carnage has published a new game called Bug Invasion to the Windows Marketplace. This falls in to the castle defense genre. check out the developers press release below

The quiet times had passed… People lived wasting lots of produce and food, spoiling surrounding nature. They hadn’t appreciated those nature gifts, the gifts given by people’s lands… Yes! People thought that lands fully belonged to them. So was. Up to the certain period of time…

The bugs lived peacefully. Beetles and caterpillars of different forms and sizes lived their own lives in burrows and holes, trees and bushes, grass and flowers. They had no business to us. Except of our produce. But their hunger was controllable. We had facilities to conquer them successfully, and cheaply. But people spoiled their surroundings too much! Nature does not forgive such things so easily! The Bugs, nature’s guardians, rose! They rose with the only mission – Make people STARVING! You have to save humanity! Save the produce from the Bug Invasion!

We are not new to hangman inspired windows phone games but when such a game offers turn by turn multi-player it certainly piqued our interest. Chances are some of you still remember this paper-and-pencil version which will test your vocabulary along with your opponent’s. Here is a quick crash course to jog your memory in case its a bit rust on the game mechanics : The word to guess is represented by a row of dashes, giving the number of letters in the word 5 blanks represents a five-letter word 7 blanks and it’s an seven-lettered word. One player sets this the other one has to guess the word one letter at a time , each time this payer makes a correct guess the other player fills in the blanks and if its an incorrect guess they draw one element of the hangman diagram. The game is over when one player guesses the word or the other completes the hangman diagram.
