I was just over on the ‘Xbox LIVE on Windows Phone’ page and I noticed a game I hadn’t seen before.

Pilot your fighter jet from World War I all the way into the future and back again, anytime, anywhere on your Windows Phone 7.
I know some countries have games which aren’t available elsewhere, but I had been making a list of Xbox LIVE titles yesterday & didnt see it. My guess is this is a little preview of the next title released in the ‘GameRoom‘ series, presumably appearing sometime after the six weeks of “Must-Have Windows Phone Games” is over.

Whilst I have never been a big fan of the GameRoom series (I feel they are overpriced & should all be put into one game with a $4.99 price, not loads of little games for $2.99), its still interesting to see what they’re bringing out!
What retro games from consoles from yesteryear do you wish you could play still?

Showtime!
I may have never fulfilled my childhood dream of running away with the circus & lived a life of mystery, traveling from town to town doing shows, but I can still have a bit of circus based fun on my phone thanks to CarneyVale : Showtime.
The description says: “Its circus extravaganza meets ragdoll physics.”

Mahjong 3D Solitaire
For anyone out there who likes a good game of Mahjong, this is perfect for you! I have to admit I was quite surprised at how good this free game is.
This is an XNA based game which has nice menus & two modes of play; Free Play & Mahjong Champion. In ‘Free Play’ you can choose any game from the extensive list of tables whereas in Mahjong Champion mode you have to do them in order to win badges & you only get a limited number of hints to use up.

Revolution
YOU SPIN ME RIGHT ROUND BABY, RIGHT ROUND! YOU SPIN ME RIGHT ROUND BABY, RIGHT ROUND! And so on & so forth.
This game is all about making cogs spin. Drag & drop cogs from the tray at the bottom onto the page so that every cog turns. Simples.
There is nothing complicated about the concept of how to play the game, however, this is one of those “minute to learn, lifetime to master” kind of games. Whilst the idea is easy, making your way through all of the 75 levels may not be. As you progress, you find more & more difficult challenges appear which include different elements such as ‘no cog zones’ & ‘falling stars’ which make your job a little bit harder.

Those who regularly get new games to play on their phones have probably gotten used to the routine of new xbl games and special offers appearing on Wednesdays, but strangely enough, nothing has appeared today.

This week’s deal is The Harvest and whilst it’s still being featured as such, it’s still the same old price and there are no new xbox live games available to buy. Stranger still, it has been reported that no other new apps or games have gone onto the marketplace today.

Tiki Towers
Do you have much experience in the construction industry? Do you like coconuts & bamboo? Well, do I have a job proposal for you! Tiki Towers is all about making structures out of bamboo & coconuts for little monkeys to climb & swing across so they can grab a banana & get home okay. When I first loaded up Tiki Towers, I was a little worried as it looked a bit too cheesy, but I was pleasantly surprised that behind the cheesy intro & cartoon style graphics, there is some really good fun gameplay.

Max and the MagicMarker
This is most definitely a curious & inventive game. You use a giant marker to help you through the levels by drawing things into reality. This could be drawing boulders to drop onto see-saws to catapult you into the air, drawing planks to help you get across gaps or just drawing something to drop onto the bad guys who appear.
The story revolves around a little guy called Max (big surprise 1) who has a Magic Marker (big surprise 2) that is posted to him (a bit mysterious & creepy, but okay). He draws a little character that becomes alive & a little bit evil, so he draws himself so he can go & defeat the evil drawing. This is the sort of plot I could imagine ending with the line “and he woke to find it was all a dream”, but it’s still quite fun.

The-Harvest
I’ve finally got round to reviewing The Harvest & I feel it’s really been worth the wait for me. The harvest caused a stir when it’s beautiful looking graphics were shown off as an example of what Xbox Live games for Windows Phone could be & I have to admit, it doesn’t disappoint. The game takes you, a member of the army in a special robotic suit, down to planet earth to get rid of the alien hoard known as the ‘Harvesters’. Along the way you can pick up various chips & attachments as well as level up when you gain enough experience. Both the chips you pick up & levelling up with let you enhance the variety of aspects of the game, including:
